Administrative / Biographical History

Thomas Rogers, of Pentraeth, Anglesey, was a grocer and general dealer. He was sub-postmaster from 1880 to 1900, when he was succeeded by Catherine Elias. By 1912, Rogers' shop was known as The Old Post Office. He had a son, John, a daughter, Mary Elizabeth (b. c. 1874), and a grandaughter, Lill (b. c. 1900), who became one of the first female students at the University College of North Wales, Bangor.
