Administrative / Biographical History

The Kent Institute of Art and Design was formed in 1987 with the merger of Maidstone College of Art, Medway College of Design and Canterbury College of Art. It ended in 2005 with the merger of the Surrey Institute for Art and Design to create the University College for the Creative Arts, which then gained university status.

The Kent Institute of Art and Design specialised in subjects relating to the Creative Arts

The Student Union is independent of the Kent Institute of Art and Design, with student officers elected to Campus Officers to represent the views of the students

There are also permanent members of staff including Finance, Political, Student Engagement and Communication and Media

The Student Union also hold the minutes for the Student Council

The Student Union provide different Clubs and Societies
