A selection of design patterns featuring the Paisley pattern. Resembling a twisted teardrop, the kidney-shaped paisley is Iranian and Indian in origin, but derives its western name from the town of Paisley in central Scotland, where many textile mills were based. The designs in this drawer were all created for the domestic market and originate from a varied range of dates, with a number of them taking the form of photographic prints.
