Scope and Content

Widford is located miles 18 miles of west of Oxford. The parish was formerly situated in Gloucestershire but was transferred to Oxfordshire in 1844 when it was renamed Swinbrook with Widford. The parish was transferred to the Oxford Archdeaconry in 1859.

The records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library by Rev JTM Hine, vicar of Swinbrook with Widford in 1976. The material was then transferred to the Oxfordshire Record Office. Further records were deposited as Acc 3113/2 by Rev Hine in July 1990.
