The Presbyterian Church in Saltmead was founded in 1895 as part of the Forward Movement, but was not incorporated into the Cardiff District of the Glamorgan Presbytery East until 1898. The church building was opened in 1902 holding 1100 in the main hall. The church land was sold in 1992, the old building demolished and a new church was built.
