Scope and Content

The archive consists of papers relating to Fiona’s relationship with researchers, including Les Garner and Brian Harrison who conducted an oral history interview with her in 1974 (held at The Women's Library) and Carol McPhee and Ann Fitzgerald, authors of 'The Non-Violent Militant: Selected Works of Teresa Billington Greig' (1987). It also includes some family correspondence relating to the will of Teresa Billington-Greig. The collection includes the transcript of an oral history interview with Fiona Billington Greig conducted by McPhee and Fitzgerald in 1985.

Administrative / Biographical History

Fiona Billington-Greig (1915-1996) was the only daughter of Teresa Billington-Greig (1871-1964), teacher and suffrage campaigner, and Frederick Lewis Greig (d.1961), businessman.

Arrangement

Papers of Teresa and Frederick Billington-Greig were removed and added to the 7TBG archive as series 7TBG/3. The remaining papers, of Fiona Billington-Greig, were arranged following their existing order. The following publication was removed from the archive as a duplicate is held in The Women's Library Printed Collections:

Custodial History

These papers were bequeathed to the then Fawcett Library by Fiona Billington-Greig in 1997 alongside papers of her mother Teresa Billington-Greig, which were added to Teresa's archive (7TBG) during cataloguing in 2009.
