This series consists primarily of the written reminiscences of Germanic Studies scholars of their careers in the field, written in response to the request by Hugh Sacker on behalf of the Conference of University Teachers of German. There are also a variety of other types of documents (e.g. letters and notes) on the subject of individual Germanists, some of which were added to the archive at a later date than the original project by the Institute of Germanic Studies Director, Professor John Flood.
