Scope and Content

St Augustine of Canterbury Joint C.E./R.C. school was formed from a merger of Cowley St John Upper School (please see S76/7 for records of this school) and Edmund Campion Roman Catholic School. The school moved to a new site on Iffley Turn but still used the Cricket Road site until 1986. The school closed in 2003 as a result of the Oxford City Middle School reorganisation. A new Catholic Secondary School, St Gregory the Great Catholic School was created from the merger of St Augustine's and Cardinal Newman Middle School (please see S76/13 for records of this school) on the Cricket Road site.

The records were deposited as Acc 5185 in August 2003 and Acc 5653 in May 2007. Catalogued by Alison Smith in May 2022.
