Scope and Content

Cheney Girls School opened in 1959 as a selective school formed from Oxford Central Girls which closed. Some of the records go back to the Central School, but the rest of the records are catalogued as S211. In 1972 the Cheney Girls School merged with the Cheney Technical School to form Cheney School, a mixed comprehensive (see S126/4).
