EED (c.1900-1982) served in the Royal Welch Fusiliers during the First World War, where he met and served under Llord Mostyn. After the war he continued running the Packet House Hotel until c.1938, at which time the family moved to take over the Mountain View Hotel in Penmaenmawr. He ran this until c.1970. During this time, EED took up many civic and community responsibilities including being Chair of Penmaenmawr Council, President of Penmaenmawr Silver Band and Secretary of Llandudno Licensed Victuallers Association.
