Scope and Content

Letter concerning Maxwell Armfield and his paintings Twilight Language and Portrait of Percy Grainger which Pears owned and which Arthur Ballad wished to borrow for an exhibition after Armfield's death. Ballard had been left all of Armfield's unsold pictures and archives and made sole executive of these. Request also made for Pears to write a few lines about Maxwell Armfield as a belated obituary which could be included in the catalogue.
