Llanfairarybryn Parish records

Records of Llanfairarybryn parish and Parish Council, Carmarthenshire, 1769-1923, including ecclesiastical records, 1807-1853; records relating to the overseers of the poor, 1817-1884; and records relating to the surveyors of the highways, 1801-1926.

Prior to 1894, monthly parish vestry meetings dealt with ecclesiastical matters, rates, and local issues. Civil parish councils were established by the Local Government Act 1894. Community councils replaced parish councils under local government reorganization in 1974.

Arranged into the following: ecclesiastical; overseers of the poor, surveyors of the highways; and miscellaneous.
