Scope and Content

Prison diaries and later autobiographical accounts by Gliddon describing her experience of arrest and imprisonment in Holloway (4 Mar 1912 - 25 Apr 1912) after breaking a Post Office window in Wimpole Street in the suffrage cause. The earlier diaries form the basis of Gliddon's later autobiographical accounts. Each manuscript slightly differs from the next as, over the years, Gliddon honed her account.

For the most complete 'story' of Gliddon's arrest and imprisonment see her full draft autobiographical account (Ref: 7KGG/1/4).

Arrangement

The manuscripts have been arranged chronologically.
