Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
By 1886 James T. Forbes was established as a piano tuner and teacher of music in Victoria Road, Dundee. The company later moved to Kings Road, Dundee and branched out into dealing in pianos and selling music. By 1933 the company had another branch in Lochee and a Radio Saloon in Victoria Road. It is likely that the firm ceased trading in the later 1930s, although it is possible that the firm of B. G. Forbes, piano dealers on the Victoria Road who were trading by 1939, were connected.
