Scope and Content

Home security intelligence summary (Cardiff). Copies of secret daily reports of air raids and attacks on shipping for the whole of Wales. The reports were prepared in Cardiff and sent to the Ministry of Home Security in London for distribution to the military and to other government departments.

All records which meet the collection policy of Glamorgan Archives have been retained.

Custodial History

The files appear to have been in the hands of the Ministry of Pensions and National Insurance/ Department of Social Security from at least 1960, and possibly from the time of the war, as the Ministry was one of the original recipients of the reports. They were transferred to the Ministry of Defence (Defence Business Services) in 2012.
