The records of Mr Arnold B. Tinn of Woodthorpe, Nottingham concern the station which he opened at Burford Road, Nottingham in 1916, where records were maintained until 1935 when the station was transferred to Calstock Road, Woodthorpe, and continued until 1962. For many years Mr Tinn was a regular contributor on weather matters to the Nottingham Guardian, and wrote a number of articles for the Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society.

Station Reference 1916 - 1935: Latitude 52? 58' 4" N Longitude 1? 10' W OD 170 feet. Station Reference 1935 - 1961: Latitude 52? 59' 50" N Longitude 1? 18' 10 "W OD 225 feet. From 1916 readings refer to 107 Burford Road. From 1935 readings refer to 6 Calstock Road.
