Scope and Content

PHOTOGRAPHS AND COPY PHOTOGRAPHS: H.M.S. Conway a naval training ship founded in 1859. The Conway was originally stationed on the Mersey near Liverpool, but moved to the Menai Strait during World War II. On 14th April 1953 she ran aground by the Menai Bridge. She was being towed back to Birkenhead for a refit and was wrecked.
