Scope and Content

The collection contains posters produced only by the National Gallery to advertise a range of Gallery activities, including exhibitions, acquisitions, Gallery facilities and events.

Dimensions vary: some posters are smaller than A3 in size (430 x 320mm), however the majority are 765 x 509mm. There are also several posters that measure 1015 x 764mm.

Unless otherwise stated all posters are on paper. While most of the flat posters are in a good condition there are some that have torn and creased edges. Any damaged posters are identified in the catalogue.

Administrative / Biographical History
