Scope and Content

This series contains reports and correspondence on power generation including details of power stations, in particular Lots Road, with notes of accounts and financial statements, equipment, area of supply, coal supplies, change of frequency and the progress of works. Also included are notes on wartime arrangements, economy in coal consumption, a fatal accident at Lewisham Tramway Substation, repairs to power stations, the conversion of boilers at the London Passenger Transport Board's (LPTB) Neasden generating station to oil firing, the use of high tension cables, alternative supplies of traction current, note on the electricity supply in South London and a standby supply of power for the LPTB's lines as well as the use of dust-extractor units.
