Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The central Aircrew Association was founded in 1977 to provide a means for those airmen who had flown in the armed services of the UK, its allies and the Commonwealth to keep in contact. The North Wales Coast Branch started in 1984 and met in the Royal Airforce Association Club in Madoc Street, Llandudno until 2004 and then at the British Legion Club, Llandudno. Since most members were from the Second World War era, numbers inevitably declined after a peak in the 1990s and in 2011 the the central Association was wound up. Some branches have continued in existence but the North Wales Coast Branch also chose to close down in 2011.
