Scope and Content

Woodcote Board School, also known as South Stoke Woodcote School was originally founded for 10 children in 1834. The school closed in 1899 and a new school was built. The school was reorganised into two separate schools in 1957; Woodcote County Secondary School and Woodcote Primary School.. The secondary school was renamed the Langtree School in 1958, (please see S296/2 for records of this school) whilst the Primary school moved to a new site adjacent. These records were transferred from the Oxfordshire Education Department to the Oxfordshire History Centre. Further records were deposited as part of Acc 4119 in August 1996, as part of Acc 4453 in February 1999 and as Acc 6151 in February 2013. Recatalogued by Alison Smith in June and August 2013 with additions in December 2015.
