Scope and Content

A National School was founded in Horley in the 1820's and a new schoolroom was built in 1842. As a result of poor buildings the Government withdrew financial aid until new buildings were erected in 1899. The school closed in 1969. Please see CC4/115 for other records of this school.

These records were transferred from the Oxfordshire Education Department to the Oxfordshire History Centre and also deposited as Acc 3937 in February 1995. Recatalogued by Alison Smith in October 2013 and October 2015.
