This collection consists of one letter sent to Andrew D Rutherfurd in 1858, accompanying a gift from William Barnett, junior, probably as a wedding present. Andrew Rutherfurd was of the firm of Rutherfurd, Paterson & Co, Irish linen merchants in Glasgow in 1858. He lived at 6 South Wellington Street, Glasgow. William Barnett junior worked at William McLaren Sons & Co who were manufacturers and warehousemen at 63 Candleriggs and 33½ Wilson St, Glasgow.
