Administrative / Biographical History

The Barry constituency was created for the 1950 parliamentary election and abolished for the 1983 general election. In 1983 the majority of the constituency was passed to the new Vale of Glamorgan constituency while the district of Penarth became part of Cardiff South and Penarth constituency. Offices were based both in Barry and Penarth.
