Llandegfan Welfare Committee and Society

Records: Minute book, 1943 - 1976, including notebook with copies of letters, 1966 - 1969; report and newspaper cutting, [pre 1945]; and correspondence, 1939 - 1998.

Llandegfan Welfare Committee, Anglesey, was established in 1939 to provide food and clothing for evacuees (sent to Anglesey because of the threat of bombing), and to provide comforts for local troops. These functions were supplemented by provision of a canteen for local schoolchildren and running a sewing class. After the War, the Committee (later Llandegfan Welfare Society) continued to provide local welfare services, until it was dissolved in 1998.
