Scope and Content

Copies, 1980, of photographs of soldiers based at Kingsbridge camp, Beaumaris; copies, 1980, of caricatures of officers at the camp by Sapper Bernard W. Handley; copy letter and other facsimiles of material collected by A. H. Haley relating to the camp, including his own correspondence and notes, 1979, relating to his research.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Kingsbridge Camp, Llanfaes, near Beaumaris, Anglesey, was established in 1902 by the British Army as a training centre for the Royal Anglesey Royal Engineers, and was closed at the end of the First World War. Mr A. H. Haley, of Liverpool, advertised in the press, c. 1979, for information about the camp in the First World War, and received a variety of material in response, which was copied for deposit in the archive.
