Scope and Content

This collection includes various booklets and leaflets against the Vietnam War as well as lectures notes for the course 'Aspects of Marxism' possibly led by John Saville. Several other items relate to the group Socialists in Higher Education, including correspondence and conference agendas.

Administrative / Biographical History

Penelope Ann Goodchild was born in June 1940 and in 1959 began studying at the University of Hull, graduating with a degree in French and Swedish in 1963. She later married a Mr McWatters and became a lecturer in the Department of French at the University of Strathclyde.
