Photocopies of genealogical and other memoranda relating to the family, which Mr. Simons kindly allowed the Library to make, are contained in NLW Facs. 427. The papers include a diary, 1849 (Sept.) of William Simons (1813-93) when he was Registrar on the North Wales circuit, with biographical memoranda added by one of his daughters, and a letter, 1892, from him to his daughter Elsie; a commonplace book, 1891, of Elsie Simons; letters, 1893, to William Simons containing an assessment of the value of the gold in mines in the Dolgellau area in which he had invested money; a plan, 1904, of a supposed crematorium discovered on sandhills at Merthyr Mawr, co. Glamorgan; probate copies of the wills of Mary Norton, Louth, co. Lincoln, 1908, the Reverend Robert Thomas Deakins, rector of Stewton and vicar of Keddington, co. Lincoln, 1909, and Clara Maria Simons, Horton, co. Glamorgan, widow of William Simons, 1927; family photographs; and a copy of The Merthyr Express, 29 April 1982, containing an article on the Simons family.
