Rodger's collection contains only a very small amount of correspondence and research material/notes. It may be that more material remains with the Rodger family and was not deposited in the archive. Or there is the possibility that outside of his work as a professional psychiatrist, and an academic and lecturer at the University of Glasgow he did not have time to conduct extensive research. He seemed to be dedicated to teaching students and giving lectures, as well as examining and treating patients in hospitals and offering out-of-hours sessions (to friends of the family and patients in urgent need of help) in his own home. He was also committed to his reponsibilities with the mental health committees and organisations he was part of and seemed to spend many evenings giving talks to local clubs and societies.
