Handwritten letters, sometimes with accompanying envelopes, very occasionally containing pressed flowers, written to and from RHY and/or his wife. While much of the correspondence relates to personal and family matters, some professional correspondence is also present. The correspondence covers the period from RHY's acceptance at Cambridge University, through to condolences on his death.

Scope and Content
Arrangement
The overall arrangement is very loosely chronological. Some letters were organized into thematic bundles by the family, which have largely been preserved, though individual letters which did not fit thematically or were out of sequence chronologically have been moved in the course of cataloguing better to group letters in an order useful for researchers.
