Professor of Botany University College Aberystwyth 1904-14; Queens University Belfast 1914-19; Birmingham University 1919-29. President of the Ecological Society 1921. Married 1913 Lajla, daughter of Dr Klintberg of Visby , Gothland, Sweden and had issue.
