Administrative / Biographical History

Originally formed as the Western Medical Society in January 1908 at a meeting of the medical men of Partick, Whiteinch and Jordanhill, the Society adopted the title of Partick and District Medical Society in November of the same year. It was set up to provide practitioners in the West of Glasgow with a local medical society like those already in the North, East and South. The Society was wound up in 1925.
