Scope and Content

The Conservatives were originally represented in North Oxfordshire through the Banbury Borough Conservative Association. The formation of the Banbury Constituency in 1918 saw the creation of the North Oxfordshire Conservative Association. This was later renamed The Banbury Division Conservative Association, but reverted to the former name, especially after the creation of a third constituency in Oxfordhire in 1972.

North Oxfordshire Conservative records were originally deposited as Acc 1709 in June 1980 and catalogued as N. Oxon. Con. Further records were deposited as Acc 3052 in March 1990, Acc 4965 in March 2002 and Acc 5572 in June 1009. Recatalogued with additions by Alison Smith in December 2019.
