Correspondence, memoranda and extracts from minutes concerning lighting restrictions including details of the communication of air raid warnings to railway companies, train lighting, railway cooperation during black-outs, a report on a trial of train lighting restrictions, lighting exemptions, and the lighting of offices, works and yards. Also includes details of the adaptation of gas lamps for platform lighting, problems with the identification of stations by passengers during black-outs, and the use of flares and extra lighting during thick fog. Also contains an illustration of the lighting to be used at stations.
