Scope and Content

Collection of promotional material for films made by Ealing Studios between 1947 and 1958. Purchased by the Museum in 1994 from Bonhams Auction House, the collection as one list, but is clearly split into three series: 1) Exhibitor Campaign Booklets 2) Theatre Lobby Cards 3) Film Posters.

The collection includes some international material for the Polish and Belgian market.

All material is in good condtion. Some posters are fragile along the seams of prior folds.

Administrative / Biographical History

Ealing Studios is the oldest continuously working film studio in the world. In 1902, Will Barker purchased the site on Ealing Green for film making and films have been made there ever since. Famous for classic comedies including The Ladykillers, The Lavender Hill Mob (filmed partly within Gunnersbury Park) and Kind Hearts and Coronets.
