Eliza Anderson was born in Glasgow on 7 December 1889 . Her father James Anderson was a commercial traveller. Eliza attended the University of Glasgow from 1908-1912 , taking classes in Latin and Mathematics in her first year, Logic and History in her second, Geography in her third, and History (Higher) and English in her fourth and final year. Eliza graduated MA in November 1912 and subsequently became a teacher in Glasgow. She returned briefly to the University of Glasgow from 1921-1922 to take classes in Russian. Eliza died in Glasgow on 19 April 1977 .
