These documents were part of a group of 16 duplicate returns found in the Archives of the University of Melbourne (it was not known how they reached there in the first place) and given to Oxfordshire Archives in 1966, where they were assigned the accession number 638.
In 1971 part of the collection was sent to the Record offices of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Greater London, since they concerned these areas. The forms which remain concern the City of Oxford, the Hundreds of Bullingdon, Thame and Dorchester, and the Division of Wootton (ie. Wootton Hundred).
