Scope and Content

Purchase of mineral copyhold estates in the manors of Newcastle and Kefn Cribbwr. Assignment from Thomas Charles Forbes, merchant in the City of London to Captn Charles D'Ambly of Mayence [Mainz], Grand Duchy of Darmstadt, Germany, of contract of purchase of one-third of mineral copyhold estates held of the manors of Newcastle and Kefn Cribbwr, viz farm called Pantllyndraw otherwise Pantllwyntro otherwise Pantwitho [Pantyllwydrew] and Cae-dy [Cae-du]; Kefn Cribbwr [Cefncribwr] farm otherwise Foss [Ffos] farm; gentleman's cot and 7 other cottages with brick mill engine house and fire engine cast house, carpenter's shop, smith's shop and site of old furnace house; Tymane [T?-maen] farm; and copyhold farm Llwyntretieg – all in ps Laleston and Tythegstone.
