Scope and Content

Three arithmetic exercise books of Thomas Tindall of Rillington, aged 13. The books contain written rules for working with specific mathematical concepts accompanied by fully detailed questions and answers.

Administrative / Biographical History

Originally Rillington was an agricultural village and is located on a stream known as a 'Rill' after which it is named. Once part of the East Riding of Yorkshire, Rillington has been part of North Yorkshire since 1974.
