'Artists and Photographs'. Photographic documentation that includes multiples by: Mel Bochner, Jan Dibbets, Tom Gormley, Dan Graham, Douglas Huebler, Alan Kaprow, Michael Kirby, Joseph Kosuth, Sol LeWitt, Richard Long, Robert Morris, Bruce Nauman, Dennis Oppenheim, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Ruscha, Robert Smithson, Bernar Venet, and Andy Warhol.

Multiples Inc, based for a time at 927 Madison Avenue (New York City), was established by Marian Goodman and partners at the end of 1965. Having studied art history at Columbia University, Goodman came to realise that there were virtually no curatorial opportunities for women in the museum world. As she had some experience in publishing editions, she felt that this was the best route open to her and a good means of making work by the best contemporary artists. In addition, producing multiples meant that art could be offered to the public at an affordable price. Multiples Inc. published many different kinds of editions: multiples, prints, books and audio material by many of the leading American artists, such as Claes Oldenburg, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Richard Artschwager and Robert Indiana. Marian Goodman is quoted in 'Galeries' magazine (1991) as saying that the multiple she most enjoyed working on was 'Artists and Photographs'; begun in 1969 and published during the following year. She has stated that, 'It was an attempt, maybe one of the first, to show some of the changes in photography set in motion by artists from Warhol and [Robert] Rauschenberg.' In 1973, Goodman began to work on her own and started to publish editions by more European artists. By 1977, she opened her eponymous gallery in New York City, currently situated at 24 west 57th Street, where Multiples Inc. still has its base.

The material is listed alphabetically and follows the numbering sequence previously used in the card catalogue with the addition of miscellaneous (i. e. more general) material listed at the end of the sequence (i.e. TGA 7215.20 & .21). This compilation of multiples was published in 1970, however, the date listed for each work is the date (if applicable) of execution of the original. All works are printed and in an unlimited edition unless stated otherwise. Measurements are in millimetres.
