Scope and Content

A school board for Eynsham was formed in 1875 and a Board School was built on the Witney Road in 1875. After 1890 it had three departments; Boys, Girls and Infants but in 1926 it was reorganised into two; Mixed and Infants. In 1948 the Mixed School was renamed Eynsham Council School. In 1958 the school became a Primary School and Bartholomew Secondary Modern School opened in buildings built on their playing fields. For records of this school please see S100/5. In 1967 Eynsham County Primary School moved to a site on Beech Road. For records of this school please see S100/4. Please see P432/6/Y4/1 for a further plan of this school.
