Scope and Content

Contains descriptions of the Cwm Road-George Street 6.6 KV feeder, George Street and Cwm Road Sub Stations and a section labelled 'General Facts'. This includes information about the tramway to Colwyn Bay and staff involved in the Electricity Dept.

Most significantly, the major part of the volume contains an index to and transcripts of Harold Morton's letter book, 1897-1899. [Morton was the Electrical Engineer for Llandudno UDC]. HW notes that at the time when he had access to this, it was in the possession of the District Engineer for Clwyd. He fears that it may subsequently have disappeared, making this volume possibly the major source extant for the study of the development of the electricity undertaking in Llandudno.

HW includes a description of the physical appearance of the volume and comments upon the writer's spelling, prose and method of address to his manager, A H Preece, which develops from subservient to verging upon the impudent towards the end, in his opinion. It also includes complete transcripts of a proportion of the letters deemed of most significance for the project. HW mentions that there is much incidental information about the development of Llandudno itself, as well as his own area of interest.
