Scope and Content

JOURNAL of R. J. Lambert's voyage in the ship Chelydra, (J.W. Williams, master) from Swansea to Coquimbo 5 July 1845 – 18 December 1845.

Also contains memoranda of accounts (1843), poems by R.J. Lambert (1845-1852), and Lambert’s notes on literary works by G.P.R. Jones (1849). Contains the bookplate (19th century) of Robert Spears Lambert, as follows: azure, a three-masted vessel in full sail proper between three pIates, argent crest, on a torse, an arm in armor embowed the hand holding a lance. Motto, Salve me Deus.
