The minute books include the minutes of the Court of the Victoria University (1880-1903) and the Court of the Victoria University of Manchester 1903-1980. The minutes of both bodies have been treated as a single series by their creators, probably to reflect the perceived continuity between the two bodies. The minutes are printed, and are signed by the vice-chancellor in most cases (some of the earlier minutes have been signed by the Chancellor).
