Scope and Content

Papers, correspondence, financial statements, agendas submitted to meetings of Directors and signed reports of the Managing Director. Subjects include a case brought before the Industrial Court on wages and conditions under the Road Traffic Act 1930, rolling stock, allegations of mismanagement of funds by the Managing Director, costing of routes, accidents, the price of petrol, licenses for routes, publication of timetables and a enquiry into Watford Bus Operations by the Traffic Commissioner. Also includes correspondence and notes from meetings concerning the takeover of the Company by the London Passenger Transport Board, the details of which were not finalised until 1936 due to the issue of compensation paid by the London Passenger Transport Board being decided upon by an Arbitration Tribunal, and litigation brought against the London Passenger Transport Board by the Managing Director for non-continuation of his services.
