The early records of the National Assembly were the responsibility of the Welsh Assembly Government, 1999-2007. The general administrative files (Welsh Public Records) were presented to the National Assembly for Wales Commission by the Public Records (Presentation of Records) Instrument No. 2010-43 in October 2010. The first transfer of records to the National Library of Wales took place in May 2017.
