Mrs Ranji Aaron, MA, EdB, whose full maiden name was Ranjitham Perinbam, was born in Anandapuram, Tinneveli, South India in 1898. She was a fourth generation Christian. Her father and her brother (Joseph) were both doctors. Ranji and Mr Appadurai Aaron (1890-1976), both had scholarships in America but in 1929 they took temporary charge of the Student International Club in the University of Glasgow. This was only meant to be for 12 months, however they remained in charge for 22 years. Ranji passed away on 28th June 1976, prompting an appeal for the benefit of Anandapuram. She was fondly remembered for her hospitality.
