Administrative / Biographical History
John Thomas Herbert Parry of Glan-paith, Llanbadarn Fawr, Cardiganshire, practised as a solicitor in Great Darkgate Street, Aberystwyth, Cardiganshire, in the early 19th century, and accumulated many deeds. Parry dealt with the Penglais estate in the Aberystwyth area, Cardiganshire. He held shares in the Aberystwyth Gas and Coke Company, and Bwlch Consolidated Lead Mines. Parry was made a burgess of Aberystwyth in 1824.
