REPORT AND COVERING LETTER: Hugh Pritchard, Local Taxation Officer, to the Finance Committee, Anglesey County Council, concerning the allocation of proceeds of duties on cars between the Exchequer and Local Authorities. The report summarises the history of the duties from the passing of the Local government Act 1888. Apparently some counties, Caernarvonshire in particular thought they were getting too small a proportion of the revenue, but the Report doesn't uphold this view. One interesting fact which emerges from the report is that the total number of cars in Anglesey in 1907-8 was 10, in 1910-11 it was 138.
