Administrative / Biographical History
Welsh history has been taught and researched at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, from the college's foundation in 1872, but there was no distinct Chair or Department of Welsh History until 1931. The Department has since been subsumed into the Department of History and Welsh History, and in 1996 the University became the University of Wales Aberystwyth.
